Meet Ted – Managing Director & Experienced Ecologist
The Managing Director, Mr Ted Smith (BSc (Hons), Grad. Dip. Bushfire Planning and Design), is a seasoned ecologist/botanist with over 30 years of experience. Ted’s expertise spans bush fire assessment, flora and fauna surveys, land restoration, and threatened species assessments, ensuring comprehensive and integrated solutions for our clients.
Bush Fire Qualifications
Ted is a Certified Level 3 Bush Fire BPAD Practitioner, recognised by the NSW Rural Fire Service for his proficiency in bush fire assessment, and qualified to undertake alternate/performance based solutions. His qualifications enable Peak Land Management to offer detailed reporting for Development Applications (such as dwellings, additions etc), to enable their assessment & approval by Local Government & NSW RFS. This also includes integrated development such as land subdivisions, Child Care Centres, etc. This may include bush fire modelling and detailed project planning to assist in gaining the best development outcomes.
Ecological Qualifications
Ted is an accredited Biodiversity Assessment Method Assessor (BAM Assessor) with the NSW Department of Environment and Heritage and a Certified Practicing Ecological Consultant & member of the NSW Ecological Consultants Association of NSW. His ecological expertise supports our capability to conduct thorough biodiversity assessments and prepare comprehensive reports under stringent environmental regulations.
